LEVEL I - ORTHODONTICS FOR GENERAL PRACTITIONERS

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The purpose of this comprehensive 4 session, 8 day program is to teach general and pediatric dentists how to diagnose and treat simple orthodontic cases. Emphasis will be placed on thorough records and diagnosis. Treatment will involve using a combination of functional appliances mainly in mixed dentition and fixed orthodontic braces (straight wire technique) in permanent dentition. Dr. Rondeau’s systematic approach, organization and marketing tips make incorporating orthodontics into the general practice relatively easy.

Dr. Rondeau’s clinical experience in the past 27 years has revealed that parents want Two Phase treatment for their children. Parents want the developing malocclusions treated as early as possible. Therefore, if clinicians want to increase the size of their practices, they must become more knowledgeable in the utilization of functional appliances.

LEARN THE LATEST IN ORTHO, TMD & SLEEP

Dr. Rondeau currently has 550 active patients in his practice with orthodontic, TMJ and snoring and sleep apnea problems. He is committed to continually updating the course to present current and up-to-date appliances and techniques showing many cases from start to finish.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

This course is recognized by the International Association for Orthodontics and the Academy of General Dentistry for continuing education credits.

56 Hours Lecture
76 Hours Participation (upon completion of all lab exercises)
132 Hours Total

HANDS-ON LAB EXERCISES

Participants will trace cephalometrics x-rays, place brackets and wires on typodonts, prepare complete records for 5 orthodontic cases, bend sectional archwires and utility arches, place rocking chair curves and step-up, step-down bends in archwires, take construction bites for Twin Blocks™ and other functional appliances and learn to adjust clasps and labial bows on functional appliances.

INCREASED INCOME

Participants will be encouraged to start 5 orthodontic cases during the course which will provide immediate income to pay for the course. The course is also tax deductible. If you add orthodontics to your practice, your income will increase significantly. It has been estimated that 70% of the children in your practice have some form of malocclusion. If you have 300 children in your practice:

70% x 300 children = 210 children with malocclusion
210 x $4,500 per case = $945,000

Why Refer?
Why refer out 50 orthodontic patients a year at $4,500 per case when you can retain $225,000 within your practice.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTORS

One of the main advantages for attending Dr. Rondeau’s course is that he has a number of experienced and dedicated Assistant Instructors who attend every course to help participants learn orthodontics. In order to become more competent in orthodontics, course participants are encouraged to complete 12 lab exercises during the seminar and in their offices. The assistant instructors are also available at all times to offer advice on any new or progress orthodontic cases. Dr. Rondeau realizes that the final decision on the diagnosis of each orthodontic case is up to the dentist who is treating that particular case. However, course participants have found the instructors opinions to be quite beneficial. Instructors will also be helpful in offering advice on how to incorporate orthodontics into your general practice.
